Description:	Veramonte is one of the largest contiguous vineyards in Chile. It stretches over 1100 planted acres in the prime growing area of Chile's Casablanca Valley. The vineyard is surrounded by 12,000 acres of natural, unplanted greenbelt that is habitat to native plants and animals, and a natural lagoon, home to more than two dozen species of migrating birds. In 1990, Agustin Huneeus chose this site for Veramonte recognizing that the microclimates and soils of this beautiful valley are similar to California's prestigious Napa Valley and Carneros winegrowing regions. Today, Veramonte utilizes sustainable and organic farming practices, along with the latest viticultural advances to produce the highest quality grapes possible. Vineyards are managed with yields by dropping crop, controlling irrigation and experimenting with different pruning and canopy management techniques to maximize maturity and ripeness in the grapes. All of this attention to detail yields wines with intense flavor, definition and concentration. This is a great sipping chardonnay. There is a very fresh and sunny side to this wine. Floral and tropical notes invade the nose, mingling with nectarines, melon, and citrus on the palate. This is a great example of a vibrant, yet balanced chardonnay from Chile. Veramonte is always a great producer from year-to-year. Pair this wine with a summer salad or honey coated pear slices.
