Description: Since the Middle Ages Verdejo has been the traditional varietal here on the left bank of the Duero River. The grapes for this wine come from vineyards of which 94 acres are 26 years old and 4.8 acres are ungrafted pre-Phylloxera, 90-year-old and older Verdejo vines! These vines produce low yields of fruit with unparalleled depth and concentration. All the vineyards are located in the town of La Seca, which is considered by the locals to be the “grand cru” village of Rueda. The Naia Verdejo is loaded with honeysuckle, lemon zest, and orange rind characteristics in a crisp, medium-bodied, surprisingly textured yet elegant, fresh style. This modern-styled Spanish white should be sought out by consumers looking for light to medium-bodied, crisp, zesty whites with loads of character. Easily confused with Sauvignon Blanc, this wine will pair extremely well with shellfish and is a great patio sipper...actually quaffer.
