The newest ‘wine in a box’Fort Collins, CO January 30, 2007 - The newest ‘wine in a box’ is really four wines in a box delivered right to your front door. Quattro Vino offers an online shopping experience for wine lovers across the country. The ‘wine in a box’ brings wine exploration paired for the novice that wants to begin exploring wine to the most experienced wine aficionados.
Colorado's first "click-n-mortar" wine store Quattro Vino is located in Fort Collins. Click-n-mortar retailers offer an integrated online and in-store shopping experience for their customers. “In our case, we offer 80 selectively paired wine 4-packs that provide customers with a convenient way to explore and purchase wine” said Stefanie Haines co-owner of Quattro Vino.
Online, at qvwines.com, customers can browse and purchase from the entire selection of wines available and have them shipped to states that allow wine shipping or pick them up in-store.
"Our concept is to make the product the expert so that you don't have to be, nor do you have to rely on a sommelier just to be able to try a new wine at dinner this evening" stated Matt Haines, one of the founders and NOT a wine exert.
The different regions that the wines are from, the wide array of grapes, which wine for which situation, dry vs. fruity, etc all make choosing wine confusing for the average person. Let alone experimenting or trying new wines. Quattro Vino eliminates the confusion and makes trying new wines easier by packaging win e in four-packs by grouping wines by region, taste profile, grape, and situation. There are even dinner 4-packs.
“For us making a wine store shop usually meant purchasing 4-6 bottles of wine. Nice label - $15, must be good, right?” says Stefanie. Matt and I thought it would be easier if we could purchase wine paired together for tasting and then with the journal keep track of the wines we liked. It was with this need that we created Quattro Vino.
Like most ecommerce retailers, we track purchases and provide other online services such as the online journal, “My Cellar” to document and rate the individual wines you are trying.
Quattro Vino is unique in new way to purchase from an Internet wine shop. Plans include focusing on Internet sales and other business channels that leverage our click-n-mortar capabilities.
Matt Haines, co-owner, says, “For example, we are working with vacationers traveling to resort destinations to select their wines online and allow us to ship to the resort prior to their arrival.
